Visitor Safety and Risk Assessment Training.
Staff from Iceland national parks and protected areas have participated on a two day course on visitor safety and risk assessment training. There was also a participants from Search & Rescue in Iceland and Hanne Nymann came from Greenland. The course was lead by Jennifer Proctor Deputy Chief at the Office of Risk Management in te National Park Service.
It is sure to say that lessons have been learned that will be helpful to assess out hazard out in the national park´s and protected areas in Iceland.
This training was a joint partnership between the Icelandic Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources, Environment Agency of Iceland, Vatnajökull National Park, Þingvellir National Park, and United States National Park Service.
