Weather on Thingvellir -0,8°C A 6 m/ s.

Due to an ever increase in tourism that put limits on roads, infrastructure, nature and air quality it has been decided to put up train system to Thingvellir.

The first part is already functional in Almannagjá fault and can the park´s guest go for free today. Already some have enjoyed this new way of travel in Iceland (Iceland has never had public transport trains) as can be seen on attached photo. Later people can ask for tickets at our information centre.

Later the train system will extend to Reykjavik and even Keflavik airport. Guests to Iceland can therefore travel with train straight to Thingvellir.

Construction will take rather short time as all measurment and outline were drawn already 1915 when Icelanders were looking for futuristic travelling. It halted then due too population but today no boundaries can hold us.
