Thingvellir National Park continues to attract a steady flow of visitors in 2019
2019 came to a closure of an exciting and turbulent year. The national park continues its research on the number of tourists visiting coming to see the UNESCO World Heritage site and its surroundings.
The counts for end of the year state that 1.314.000 people visited the park. This represents an slight decrease of 0,6% compared to 2018 (1.322.000 visitors). As the visitation of the winter months is highly dependent on the weather conditions, we might see a slight reduction in numbers closing the year. As the overall number of foreign visitors to Iceland seems to have dropped significantly, we are happy to see that the visitation to Thingvellir National Park has stayed stable.
We thank all the visitors that showed interest in our park and our services. We hope to see many more in the coming year. All the best to you in the new year!
