Bergmál - Concert at Þingvellir on June 20th
Information regarding Saturday June 20th
A major music festival is scheduled to take place at Þingvellir on June 20th. The festival begins at 11:00 AM on the small stage at Valhöll. At 2:00 PM (14:00), the program starts on a larger stage on the fields close to Öxarárfoss and runs until midnight.
Consequently, there will be disruption to standard operations in the national park, and here is the information regarding visitor access.
Roads - Traffic and Control
Þingvallavegur (Road 36)

Before 15:00: Road open for both eastbound and westbound traffic.

After 15:00: An eastbound road closure will be in effect at the intersection of Þingvallavegur (36) and Upper Grafningsvegur (360) from Reykjavík. A westbound road closure will also be in effect at the intersection of Þingvallavegur (36) and Lyngdalsheiðarvegur (365) near Miðfell from Selfoss or Laugarvatn.
No one will be permitted to pass through the road closures toward Þingvellir unless they have a pre-booked parking space and a ticket to the concert. Staff will be scanning for confirmed parking reservations at Þingvellir. Visitors are requested to have their parking reservation visible and ready at the checkpoint.
Other road closures within the National Park

Vallavegur (Road 361): Will be closed to general traffic heading down into the histori assembly grounds (þinghelgi) from morning until midnight.

Tour buses with regular tourist tours can drive down the road to pick up passengers who were dropped off at Hakið and walked from there to Flosagjá/Peningagjá (P4) until 15:00. The buses must drive one-way eastbound along Road 361 by the lake and out of the national park. This one-way route closes at 15:00 to all traffic not related to the concert operations.

Efrivallavegur (Road 362): Closed to all traffic except that related to the concert operations.

Valhallarvegur (Road 363): Closed.

Uxahryggjavegur (Road 52): Open until 15:00, after which a strict closure will be in effect at Skógarhólar.

After 15:00: The intersection of Þingvallavegur (36), Uxahryggjavegur (52), and Vallavegur (361) will be a hard closure.
Post-15:00 Routing and Departure Instructions

Leirar Parking: After 15:00, vehicles attending the concert with assigned parking at Leirar must arrive from the east/via Lyngdalsheiði/the road from Grímsnes along Þingvallavatn. At the end of the concert, all vehicles at Leirar must exit eastbound via Lyngdalsheiði/Selfoss/Hellisheiði.

Brúsastaðir / Tæpastígur Parking: After 15:00, guests with parking at Brúsastaðir/Tæpastígur must arrive from the west from Reykjavík, or via road 360 (Grafningsvegur) if driving from South Iceland. At the end of the concert, all of these guests must drive westbound to Reykjavík or via road 360 (Grafningsvegur) to South Iceland.
Parking

Hakið (P1):
Parking spaces at P1 will be utlized for general park visitors and buses as long as space permits until 15.00. If the Hakið parking lot fills up, visitors can drive to the campsite at Nyrðri-Leirar and take a shuttle bus down to Þingvellir. No concert guests in
private vehicles can park at Hakið.

Kastalar and Fossplan (P2):
Closed.

Langistígur (P3):
Closed.

Flosaplan (P4):
Open for tour buses to pick up regular tourist passengers until 15:00.

Valhöll (P5):
Closed.
Parking and Transportation for Concert Guests
Bus Trips to Þingvellir
Guests arriving to Þingvellir by organized concert buses will arrive at the visitor
center at Hakið, from where they will walk approximately 20 minutes down to the festival grounds. Buses will depart from the same location after the concer ends.
Syðri–Leirar and Fagrabrekka
From here, guests can walk along Fagrabrekka to the festival area or take a shuttle bus. The walking route takes about 20–30 minutes through a beautiful birch-covered hillside.
Located by Road 36 before driving down to the campsite at Leirar. From here, there is a shuttle bus service to Hakið, and guests walk down to the festival area from there.
Drive past the turn-off to the Brúsastaðir farm for just over 1 km and turn into the parking lot there.
The parking lot is located just before driving over the Öxará river. Guests at this parking lot will be shuttled by bus to the visitor centre at Hakið, and will walk down to the festival area from there.
Tour Operators
Operators can drive to Hakið, and buses can drive down to Flosaplan (P4) to pick up passengers if desired until 15:00.
If guests are picked up at Flosagjá/Peningagjá, drivers must follow the one-way route along the lake eastbound out of the national park. Alternatively, operators can wait in the parking lot at Hakið while guests enjoy Þingvellir, and then drive away.

Specific Activities
Silfra
Visitors heading to Silfra must park at Nyrðri - Leirar and take a shuttle bus down to Silfra.
For safety reasons, in consultation with the police and the Bergmál secutiry committee, the Þingvellir Committee has decided in accordance with Paragraph 2 Article 7 of the National Park Act that all traffic of boats and other watercraft is prohibited on lake Þingvallavatn within the park boundaries from 08:00 AM on June 20th until midnight on June 20th.
Horseback Riding Traffic
It is neither possible nor permitted to arrive at the festival grounds on horseback. Trails leading to the festival grounds that are commonly used as riding paths will be closed.
Riders can travel to the Skógarhólar rest area in consultation with the warden at Skógarhólar, depending on available grazing and space.
