Service fee is collected at designated parking spaces at Thingvellir.
- P1 - Hakið. Located at the upper end of Almannagjá where the national park´s Visitor Center is situated.
- P2 - Efri-Vellir, located east and below Öxarárfoss.
- P3 - Langistígur located 900 meters north of Öxarárfoss,.
- P5 - Valhöll, the parking lot nearest to Thingvellir Church and Silfra fissure.
The fee authorizes parking for the day of payment in all the national parks parking lots (P1 - P5)
If a guest has a disabled parking permit in their car, they do not need to pay. However, they must still come to the Visitor Center at Hakid to unregister their license plate from the camera system or send email to reikningar@thingvellir.is or thingvellir@thingvellir.is.
The payment system at Hakið is based on a camera surveillance system that matches car license plates with the registry from the Transport Authority. When leaving, the plates are compared with the National Park's payment system.
Payment machines can be found at the Visitor Center, restroom building next to the Visitor Center, P2 - Vellir below Öxarárfoss and P5 - Valhöll.
It is possible to pay the service fee for parking at Checkit.is, as this company handles the collection of service fees for the National Park.
