Opening hours during the holidays
Opening hours for the park´s information and exhibition at our visitor centre Hakid and service centre Leirar.
Opening hours for the information desk and exhibition Heart of nation at the national park´s visitor centre and service centre are as follows.

25. December 10:00 - 15:00
26. December - 30. December 09:00 - 17:00
31. December 09:00 - 15:00
01. December 10:00 - 16:00
Þjóðgarðurinn öllum opinn ávalt.
Þingvellir national park it self is always open for every guest as long roads to us are not closed. Here are multiple walking trails some more clear of snow then others. During winter season we do recommend that our guests use good shoes and microspikes.
Walking trails from parking lots at Hakid (P1), Þingplan near Öxarárfoss (P2), and at Valhöll (P5) we try to clear of snow. Other trails like up to Öxarárfoss or into the middle of the rift valley like to Skógarkot are not serviced during winter.
A church service will be held both on the 25th of December and on New years day at 14:00. Do notice that the mass is in Icelandic.
During season like this we do try to clear the snow as much as we can.

Different tech for different task. The national park is well equipped but this will take time for the next days to prepare our trails again.
