Safety Meeting in the National Park

Representatives from the police in South Iceland, the Health institution of South Iceland and National Police Commissioner had a good meeting this week with the director of Þingvellir.

Such meetings have been held from time to time to review the response, equipment and other safety measures in the national park. All agreed that many challenging situations can arise in a popular tourist destination as Þingvellir is.

In recent years, increased emphasis has been placed on safety issues, training and response of the national park's employees. There is a contract with the Health institution of South Iceland to have a emergency response car operating at Þingvellir every day.
