Icelandic Nature Day is celebrated every year on September 16. For that reason, institutions, companies and schools organize various events.
Nature has played a major role in shaping the Icelandic nation. The interaction of weather, natural disasters, a short but colorful summer and other factors has been both a threat and at the same time has created an often indescribable beauty.
To celebrate the day the exhibition Heart of Iceland, located in the national park´s Visitor centre will be free of charge .The interactive experience calls for interaction between the visitor and information stations to obtain knowledge about Þingvellir´s culture and nature.
