Guided Walk With a Ranger

Guided tours take place twice a day throughout the summer and cover a wide range of topics. The tours are free of charge and open to everyone. Morning tours start at 10:00 from the Þingvallakirkja church located in the historical area. Afternoon tours start at 14:00 from the parks visitor center at Hakið. 

All tours take on average 1 hour and cover the history and geology of the park. Additionally, each ranger will cover their speciality which includes Archeology, Heritage, Biology, Botany and much more.

10:00 tour from Þingvallakirkja church

To attend the 10:00 tour it is best to park in the P5 parking lot, cross the bridge across Öxará river and walk along the river to the church. The ranger will be situated outside the church.

14:00 tour from Hakið Visitor Center

To attend the 14:00 tour from Hakið Visitor Center it is best to park at P1 parking lot. The visitor center is a 200m walk from the parking lot. The ranger will be situated outside the visitor center.
