Successful Safety Day

Last week, a successful safety day was held at Silfra. The day was attended and planned by companies that sell diving and snorkeling tours in Silfra. The National Park provided assistance with organization and facilities. A paramedic came from the South Iceland Health Institution to review certain safety and security response efforts. Þingvellir has on site a paramedic every day.

The turnout was extremely good and over 50 members of staff from the companies participated. The weather was okay, at least dry on the day, although it was  quite windy at times.

The exercise is one of many things important to ensure the safety of visitors to the National Park and minimize accidents in Silfra.
