Safety Training Silfra
Tomorrow, Monday June 2, a safety training day will be held in Silfra. No trips will be taken by companies into Silfra ravine after noon that day. A joint safety meeting will be held with the staff of the national park and the staff of the tour companies that sell trips into Silfra. A paramedic from the South Iceland Health Institute will be on site and participate in the day.
Both the national park's lecture hall facilities in the Visitor centre will be used and exercises will be held at Silfra. Limited access to Silfra can be expected during the exercise.
The safety day is being held in cooperation with the national park and the tour operators that sell diving and snorkling tours into Silfra.

The water is cold but Silfra is quite something to enjoy. Safety is though of the essence
