Leirar Service Centre was built in 1974 by the Þingvellir National Park campsite and the junction of roads 36, 361 and 52.
The service centre includes a café and a souvenir shop. Operations are run by Icewear.
Þingvellir National Park staff members provide general travel information at the service desk near the entrance and sell permits for camping in the national park campsites, fishing in Þingvallavatn, and diving in Silfra.
